about

A classic garage song by Clare. Sally Skull performed this from the very early days of the band, but this recording captured the band's version of the song perfectly. Clare and Saskia continued to play this throughout their time in The Nettelles too - a favourite.

lyrics

You can fall down but you can’t get up
Haven’t got the strength to lift you up
Thought I needed you but I was wrong
And you’ve been needing me for much too long

Made up my mind
You’re a hopeless case
So pack up your bags
And get out of my face

You better go
You better leave now, baby
You better go
I’ll see you maybe

One or two things I’ve decided tonight
You’re not a lover you’re a parasite
Won’t open my veins for your vampire love
This is it, boy, I’ve had enough

Made up my mind
You’re a hopeless case
So pack up your bags
And get out of my face

You better go
You better leave now, baby
You better go
I’ll see you maybe

Can’t take the guitar I play it better than you
Better decide what you’re gonna do
Boy take a look at the state you are in
Without me you’re a useless piece of skin

Made up my mind
You’re a hopeless case
So pack up your bags
And get out of my face

You better go
You better leave now, baby
You better go
I’ll see you maybe
You better go
You better leave now, baby
You better go
I'll see you maybe
You better go
